A9.12.5 Graphics Programs

Before the graphics programs can be run, data files containing position coordinates of the trajectories must be obtained.  A slight modification to the main program and its adjoining programs has been made to do just this.  TRAJ2PT is a slight alteration of the program TRAJ6PT.  The programs to be linked with this main program are:  CHECHITSEN1, FDMOD1, TIMER, TRACKSUB1, and TRAJRT1BDET.  These programs can be found in the back of this thesis--changes are minimal to the original programs, with exception of TRAJRT1BDET which now includes the differential equation solver.  A more complete description of these changes can be found on page 109 of Shodhan's thesis.

The graphics program FDLNGEOM is good for drawing the overall geometry.  The only input file required here is COORD.DAT.  An example of the output is shown in Figure A9-7a or b.

FDLNCOORPRO is designed to first plot the geometry and then a fixed number of trajectories which is specified by the user.  Note that the data files for the trajectories must be generated before this program can be used.  Examples of the output can be found in Section A9.9.  Note:  There is another program, FDLNFOUR, that plots four of these to one page.

FDLNCOOR43 is designed to plot the angles of the escaping trajectories.  None of these plots are presented here, but they are shown in Shodhan's thesis and tend to be useful in determining the ranges of polar and azimuthal angles needed to run the main program.
