2.2.5 Ground Monitor Resources
The ground monitor record consists of two to four 1200 bit blocks that are output from the DSS every 15 seconds. The Data Records system takes the input records, prefixes the appropriate SFDU headers, and stores the records as part of the MDR file. The ground monitor data is then supplied routinely to HUS and to other Principal Investigators on a request basis. Processing Start/Stop. All ground monitor records received from the Front End Processor are stored in time received order (GMT) in the MDR file.
Record Buildup. Each monitor record is stored as an independent record in the MDR file.
Record Header. The ground monitor record receives a standard SFDU header.
Data Block. When in arrayed mode, the ground monitor block will appear as one type 1 block and one or more type 2 blocks, one for each antenna used in the array, up to a maximum of three. Normally, only one antenna will be used for ISPM, so the ground monitor record will consist of one block 1 and one block 2 format. Because of the size of the blocks, no attempt will be made to describe each field in this document. The description of each parameter of the ground monitor data block is currently available in 820-13 Rev. A, Module MON-5-9, "DSN Monitor and Control System Interface with Project Telecommunication Link Analysis," dated 1 October 1983. The DSN header is described in 820-113 Rev. A, Module OPS-6-8, "DSN 1200-bit and 4800-bit Data Block Header Code Assignments, Mark IVA, 1985," dated 1 October 1983.
