ARCGEN

 

Name ARCGEN.EXE
Description Arcgen is the main software package used to convert the raw data into the accepted HSIO format.
Input Raw data file. Naming convention: “edrYYDDD_02.00”
Ref: EDR software interface specification
Output HSIO formatted file “ulaYYDDD.rat” contains head block contains rate block
Ref: HISCALE Record Definition
HSIO formatted file “ulaYYDDD.pha” contains pulse height block contains MFSA block

CMPAVG

 

Name CMPAVG.EXE
Description Compressed averages. This program takes an HSIO data file with information only in spingroup 1 and creates an HSIO file with data in all ten spin groups. Used to reduce the size of some files.
Input Any HSIO file with information only in spingroup 1. Program prompts user for prefix and suffix of input file.
Output HSIO file with information in all 10 spingroups. Program prompts user for output file prefix and suffix.

COPYCDF

 

Name CDF.EXE
Description This program will copy the common data file from the cd-rom and convert it into an HSIO file to be used for future processing. For information on HSIO format see "HISCALE I/O Library," Section 6.2. For information on cd-rom see “CD-rom Software Interface Specification,” Section 2.1. CDF also processes the cdf magnetic field data and converts it to an ASCII style listing.
Input Binary file on cd-rom. Naming convention “cdfYYMM.all”
Input Binary file on cd-rom. Naming convention “cdfYYMM.hed”

COPYEDR

 

Name COPYEDR.EXE
Description This program will copy the EDR file from the cd-rom and convert it to the correct blocking size required by arcgen.
Input Binary EDR file on cd-rom. Naming convention edrYYMM.lan.

Output Binary file. Naming convention “edrYYDDD.raw”

COPYSEDR

 

Name COPYSEDR.EXE
Description This program will copy the sedr information from the cd-rom and place it in the correct blocking size for use in arcgen.
Input Binary file. Naming convention “sedYYMM.fix”

Output Binary file. Naming convention “navYYDDD.dat”

F_LANAVG (QCA)

 

Name F_LANAVG.EXE
Description This program will average the ulaYYDDD.rat files using the QCA, Quality Controlled Averaging, procedure. This code is designed for averages of one hour and more.
Ref: For information on the Quality Controlled Averaging procedure see “Quality Controlled Averaging”, Section 6.6.
Input Directory containing all of the .rat files to be averaged.
Output HSIO formatted files, data in spingroup one only.
Standard UAF files contain 32 days of hourly averaged data.
Naming convention “uafYYDDD.lan”

HSCUTIL

Name HSCUTIL.EXE
Description This is a program, written in C, that provides an interface to many frequently used production routines. The following command must be applied before using the utility:
$ hscutil “kuspac$dkb0:[ulysses.lanutil.apple]apple” + - “kuspac$dkb0:[ulysses]hscutil.alias”
There is on-line help for this routine.

LANAVG

 

Name LANAVG.EXE
Description This program will average the ulaYYDDD.rat files. The duration of the average is user input. The input and output file suffix and prefix are user input.
Input Directory of ulaYYDDD.rat files to be averaged.
Output HSIO formatted file with data in spingroup one only. The prefix and suffix are user input.
Location KUEPAM$DKB200:[ULYSSES.ULYSSES.V20.EXE]

 

LANPRINT

 

Name LANPRINT.EXE
Description This program will produce ASCII text files of selected channels.
Input HSIO formatted input file
Output ASCII text files
Location KUEPAM$DKB200:[ULYSSES.ULYSSES.V20.EXE]
